THE MISSION OF CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
The mission of Children’s Ministry to partner with parents in teaching kids to know, love and serve Jesus Christ.
Each Sunday children have the opportunity to dive into God’s Word as they are taught a Bible lesson in a fun and age appropriate way, do an array of activities and most importantly learn about Jesus and His love for them!
During both our 9 am and 11 am services on Sunday’s our Children’s Ministry team serves children from birth through grade 5 in the following groups:
- Nursery- birth through 23 months.
- Toddlers- 24 months through age 3.
- Preschool- age 4 through Kindergarten.
- Rock Solid- grade 1 through grade 5.
COMMUNICATION
- All concerns or questions regarding Children’s Ministry (CM) should be directed to the CM leader and second to the Senior Pastor.
RESPECT AND CONFIDENTIALITY
- Personal information regarding families, children, parents and workers will be kept in confidence.
- Personal information regarding workers (i.e. application and background checks) will be kept at the church office in a secure location.
- All workers involved in childcare will demonstrate respect and kindness at all times.
HOURS OF OPERATION
- 9h00 – 15h00
VOLUNTEERS
- Primary teachers must be 18 years of age or older.
- Teacher assistants must be in grade 7 or older.
- Junior helpers must be in grade 3 or older and may only help in a class alongside their parent. Junior helpers are not to be left alone in the classroom with the children.
- Be a member of HOLCI Community Church.
- Complete a background check.
- Show confidence in managing children.
- Be aware and/or prepared for children with special needs (e.g. autism, allergies, ADD).
- Communicate positively and effectively with parents.
- Keep required records.
- Attend to children at all times.
- Be responsible for set up and clean up.
- Be physically capable to care for children (bend, kneel, lift, etc.).
- Understand the importance of health, safety and security issues.
